Yoga for Your Mind, Body and Soul with Mitra
“Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.” ― B.K.S. Lyengar
An Invitation to Yoga
Yoga is life. Because whatever we do is based on Yoga. Whatever is in this plane is Yoga. We are all connected. We are all part of the same fabric. Yoga brings light. It allows you to connect with your light. We all get wrapped up in our life stories. The practice of Yoga allows you to clear all that, and see life as a gift. You get to come here to experience your divinity. The divinity comes by letting go of all the things that you do not need any longer. First, we have to become aware of what is holding us back. Yoga gives us the tools to free us from all of those conditions. To me, yoga is about freedom. Freedom from the small self, connecting with the higher self. - Mitra

“I am so happy to have said “ what the heck” and walked into Mitra’s yoga class ten years ago. I was 66 and concerned about my declining posture. Now at 76, I stand straighter, feel stronger and more in touch with my body and inner self. Mitra’s classes always seem personalized just for me. I’m so glad I took that first tentative step all those years ago. Thank you Mitra!”

Santa Cruz, California“At the age of 74, I am no longer a spring chicken, so yoga has become a critical part of my health care. Regular practice of yoga builds strength and increases flexibility, so that I can continue to be an active senior. I have had many yoga instructors in my life, but Mitra is by far the most skilled and knowledgable teacher ever! I have been training with her for over 10 years, and attend her classes, workshops, and longer retreats. She works magic with older clients who may have physical challenges or limitations, and is always able to provide an alternative to more difficult postures, ensuring maximum benefits are achieved. She is also kind, understanding and has a great sense of humor! She is the ideal yoga teacher if you want to progress in your practice. I highly recommend her!”

“I took my first yoga class with Mitra in 1998 when I was 30 and it was life changing. Since then I have tried many other yoga instructors but there is nobody else who has her deep understanding of what each individual body needs. I would not be able to move and exercise the way I do now without her.”

“Mitra has been my yoga teacher, spiritual guide and dear friend for over 15 years. During that time she has cured chronic aches and pains, rehabilitated acute injuries and most importantly shared profound teachings about how to be a more loving and kind person. I owe my health and vitality- mental, physical and spiritual- in large part to her skillful teaching.”

“I was introduced to yoga practice with Mitra over 25 years ago. I’ve had the privilege of attending a yoga retreat in Mexico early on and had a memorable experience. I reconnected with Mitra a couple of years ago & it’s been like picking up where we left off. Yoga practice led by Mitra is therapeutic, a continuous learning process and her firm yoga instruction is led by a gentle wholistic touch and guidance. I travel approximately 150 miles once a week to join her yoga practice. I am very grateful to have access to a one of a kind yoga practitioner. The class attracts a loyal following and that contributes to the weekly experience.”

“I have humbly and proudly been Mitra’s eternal Level 1 student for over 20 years, and have attended over ten, week long retreats on the beaches of Mexico with her. Each retreat has been a pause to a busy life: corporate world, family needs, social commitments, etc. and thus, a REBOOT to well being. It generated the positive energy, whereby I could handle all of it better. My husband, family, friends and co-workers all could see it! I was late to know Yoga as a tool in my life, but once I embraced it, I won’t let go of it or Mitra. In my travels, I still zoom in from afar to her weekly classes.”
